This is a sequel to a poem I wrote this summer, “I’ll Consume You (Tease)”, linked here.
Crescendo! Cracking through the murky clouds A landscape awash in colors Trees orange, yellow, green, red The grass is dying I can see snow on the mountaintops in the distance The world is turning itself Soon everything will ease into ice, preserved until the May sun comes back to thaw us Before that, I have work to do. I've been lingering in the woods around your house Watching with the birds Sniffing with the coyotes I wrote your name on my body in red ink seven times Why haven't you returned my calls? I built trust with your cat She showed me how to climb the fence I can see you inside, through the blinds I smeared my menstrual blood on your back door Now I'm waiting Breathing into your A/C machine That night I lured you in the alley Big, brave boy - your teeth on my neck - my claws in your scalp so close to ripping you open, only for you to smile and walk away You are foolish for teasing me. I'm tired of imagining you, and remembering you I'm going to steal pieces of you and take them with me. You're more than just a fantasy You're a meal, and I am starving.
Hehehhehehe I love it! Foolish indeed
